Sacraments of Initiation
Mary Queen of Heaven celebrates baptisms on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month at 12pm. Please check with the Parish Office to make certain the date you want is available before making plans with your family.
Mary Queen of Heaven holds a Baptism Preparation Class for parents on the 2nd Thursday of each month beginning at 7:00 PM in the Church. If this is your first child, or haven’t attended a baptism preparation class at Mary Queen of Heaven within the last 3 years you must attend a class before receiving a date for your baby’s baptism. (Both mom and dad are asked to attend. Godparents are also encouraged to attend.) Please sign up for the class by calling the Parish Office at 1-630-279-5700. The office will be happy to help you with scheduling and the required paperwork.
For children who have previously been Baptized, First Communion is celebrated when children are in the second grade and after they have completed a period of preparation. First Communion is scheduled at Mary Queen of Heaven sometime after Easter. The date and times are usually announced in August.
Adults going through the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) celebrate their First Eucharist during the Easter Vigil.
Children (previously Baptized) who did not celebrate their First Communion with their 2nd grade class, can do so at a Sunday Mass after a period of preparation. Please contact the Faith Formation Director or Pastor.
Students who have previously celebrated Baptism and Eucharist are eligible to be confirmed in 8th grade after having completed a period of preparation.
If you are an adult looking to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation, you must complete preparation in the RCIA program.
Please contact the Faith Formation office for more information at 1-630-832-8962.

Sacraments of Vocation
Holy Matrimony (Marriage)
Please call the parish office before making any other arrangements or reserving a reception hall. Diocesan policy requires a period of at least 6 months prior to the wedding for a couple to complete their necessary preparation and paperwork.
Weddings will be celebrated at Mary Queen of Heaven provided that the bride or groom:
- Resides within the boundaries of Mary Queen of Heaven.
- Resides outside the boundaries but parents or grandparents have been registered and active at Mary Queen of Heaven for a least one year before contacting the parish office to schedule a wedding.
- Resides outside the boundaries but either the bride or groom was Baptized, received First Communion, or was Confirmed at Mary Queen of Heaven.
We are sorry but we do not accept registration for individuals living outside our boundaries for the purpose of getting married at Mary Queen of Heaven. Please call the parish office with any questions concerning Holy Matrimony at 1-630-279-5700.
“Holy Orders is the sacrament through which the mission entrusted by Christ to his apostles continues to be exercised in the Church until the end of time…It includes three degrees of order: episcopate, presbyterate, and diaconate” (CCC 1536). Deacons, priests and bishops are essential to the Catholic Church because we believe that they continue the work begun by the apostles.
For any questions concerning discernment of a vocation please see the pastor or a deacon and they will be glad to help.
